Matrophilia, the love of and for the mother, is the ultimate basis of health, and the bedrock of Dr. Diamond’s work. In this revelatory essay, he explores the concept with characteristic depth, and reveals a simple yet powerful meditation using the Inner Temple, his name for the fourth ventricle of the brain, the place “where the Holy of Holies within each of us exists.” This short, profoundly insightful work is an offering for the ages by one of the great healers of our time.

Dr. Diamond’s video “Beauty, Blessedness, Belovedness” led me to order “Matrophilia and the Inner Temple.” Actually, if truth be told, it was his book “Behavioral Kinesiology” (“Your Body Doesn’t Lie”) that I bought at a second hand bookstore twenty (20) years ago led me here.
In my 35 years of self-healing, I have found myself back at the womb, attempting to make contact with my mother who died of pancreatic cancer when I was nine months old, I feel there was a great deal of grief, sadness and pain during my time in utero, and I have much to learn about this phase of life.
For me, the high points (and highlighted points!) were the principles of Jen and Li, the meaning of “Matrophilia” – “knowledge of the mother’s soul,” the information presented about Lung 1 and relationship to the mother, and perhaps the most interesting, meditating on the fourth ventricle of the brain – “The Inner Temple” as a means to connect to the Soul of the mother.
This book came into my life at the most opportune time, and I am very grateful for this, and all Dr. Diamond’s work.
